What is the minimum wage in the US at the moment?
The federal minimum wage in the US is current set at USD$7.25 per hour. Minimum wage does vary by state; Wyoming and Georgia have the lowest minimum wage per their state laws, at $5.15 per hour, and some states have no legislation in place to set a minimum wage, such as Louisiana and Mississippi. Massachusetts and California currently have the highest minimum wage laws in effect in the US at $10 per hour.

Is any action being taken to equalise the minimum wage?
There are a number of organisations working to raise the minimum wage state-by-state. Business for a Fair Minimum Wage is one example of such an organisation working to build a coalition among business owners in support of raising the minimum wage.
