Butstraen will take over from Ilaria Resta while retaining his position as Chief Integration Officer

Newly-created health, beauty and nutrition company DSM-Firmenich has promoted Emmanuel Butstraen to the role of President of its Perfumery & Beauty business.

Butstraen will assume this role from 1 July, following a handover from current incumbent Ilaria Resta.

He will also retain his previous title of Chief Integration Officer, continuing to oversee the integration of the two companies.

Prior to acting as Chief Integration Officer, Butstraen served as the President of Taste & Beyond at Firmenich from 2018.

In his new role as President of Perfumery & Beauty, he will report to DSM-Firmenich’s co-CEO, Dimitri de Vreeze.

DSM-Firmenich officially launched as a company on 9 May, following a several-months merger period

The deal to combine the two companies – the Dutch-Swiss health, nutrition and biosciences company DSM and Swiss Firmenich, the world’s largest privately-owned taste and perfumery company – was announced in May 2022

De Vreeze and his co-CEO, Geraldine Matchett, said: “We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Emmanuel Butstraen as the President of our Perfumery & Beauty business.

“His profound understanding of our customer base and exceptional leadership skills have consistently yielded remarkable results.

“With a deep understanding of consumers and a passion for fragrance, personal care and innovation, Emmanuel is set to further strengthen DSM-Firmenich as the partner of choice for our customers, empowering them to enhance and strengthen their brands.”
