Naturex and Natraceutical Group formalise ingredients merger

Spanish biotechnology specialist Natraceutical Group and French multinational Naturex are one step closer to merging their ingredients businesses. Contracts have been formalised for the transaction, which will see Natraceutical gain €38m, debt or cash, €10m of which will not be made effective until the confirmation of both companies’ end of year results.

Contracts have been formalised for the transaction, which will see Natraceutical gain €38m, debt or cash, €10m of which will not be made effective until the confirmation of both companies’ end of year results.

The new company will operate under Naturex management and additions to Naturex’s product portfolio as a result of the merger will include natural colours, fruit and vegetable powders, pectins, functional ingredients, yeasts and caffeine.

Meanwhile Natraceutical will focus its efforts on developing its nutritional supplements division. The Valencia-based company will also hold a 39% stake in Naturex.
