Industry association has partnered with the International Organic Accreditation Service (IOAS)

Belgium based International Natural and Organic Cosmetics Association (NaTrue) has launched a new accreditation program in partnership with the International Organic Accreditation Service (IOAS). The move is said to be in line with NaTrue’s goal to consolidate the trust in its label, which is currently adopted by around 100 brands globally.

Until now, NaTrue has been working with around 20 Approved Certifiers. The new IOAS Accreditation Program is expected to take this further, by taking internationally recognised procedures into consideration for the accreditation of the certification bodies and the manner in which they operate with respect to the NaTrue label. The program, set to take effect in September, will combine the views of the natural and organic cosmetic sector with widely recognised procedures for product certification, leading to “combination of knowledge and integrity in the interest of companies and consumers,” according to NaTrue.

"IOAS’s internationality and not for profit approach fully comply with NaTrue’s principles. Their deep knowledge of the organic sector and the commitment of building trust for organic consumers make IOAS the perfect partner for this important step for NaTrue," said Julie Tyrrell, Director General of NaTrue.
