Sessions of York now offers self-adhesive Scratch and Sniff labels with a microencapsulated fragrance to match the fragrance of a particular product.
Invisible fragrance buds are incorporated into the label allowing the consumer to release an accurate representation of the product’s smell by simply rubbing the label surface or printed graphics.
As a response to demand for multicolour printed graphics, Sessions has perfected the application of a flexo applied microencapsulated fragrance instead of the screen version used previously. A significant benefit of this new technology is that Sessions can manufacture the labels on its eight, nine and ten colour presses. This results in a high quality four-colour process illustration plus spot colours, and the application of the fragrance slurry, in line. This streamlined manufacturing technique has the added benefit of shorter lead times and a more cost effective product.
Manufacturing these labels and simulating the fragrances enables Sessions to sell labels to its customers who can locate a fragrance sampler on the outside of the pack. This enables the consumer to sample the product fragrance without interfering with the integrity of the pack.
