Michael Smith Engineers Ltd has produced the Finish Thompson SP series magnetic drive, a self-priming centrifugal pump.
Because of the new system’s pumping capabilities, it claims to be able to handle fluids with high specific gravities up to 1.8. The company says that the system does not leak and the pumps can run dry without damage.
Operation temperatures range from 82OC to 104OC. The machine has a number of applications including transferring from underground storage trucks, sump draining and pumping trapped air.
