Japanese beauty conglomerate Kao has announced two new appointments to its global management team.
Karen Frank, President of Consumer Care AEMEA, and Dominic Pratt, President of Salon, Global joined the team as its Executive Officers at the start of this year.
Leading the charge in Kao's international representation, Frank (President for Consumer Care AEMEA) and Pratt (President for Salon, Global, Consumer Products) have been tasked at further strengthening the role of the AEMEA Consumer Products Business within the company’s global business operations.
“Listening to the Genba, the local markets, has always been a core principle at Kao," said Pratt.
“Together with Karen, I want to ensure that the Americas and EMEA markets get a stronger voice in our global operations while driving our businesses with more agility and faster decision making.”
Pratt joined Kao in 2000 as a Senior Scientist and has led the firm's Skin Care Research group since 2019.
Frank joined Kao in 2009, she led the AEMEA Consumer Care Business and will continue to manage the role of President, Kao USA in conjunction with her new appointment.
The pair will report to the company's Tokyo headquarters.
Last November, the beauty powerhouse Kao achieved climate neutral operations across its sites in the UK and Germany working with ClimatePartner.
The owner of Molton Brown and John Frieda has taken action to cut emissions across its Kao EMEA arm including switching to 100% renewable electricity since 2014 and reducing energy consumption by 31% since 2010.
