Japan's retail market continues its recovery

Sales rose 3.6% in May


Retail sales in Japan rose 3.6% in May this year, continuing the recovery that has been underway since the turn of the year, according to the Economics Ministry. The growth in May sales was helped by a 3.2% increase in sales of cosmetics which together with other industrial sectors is helping improve Japanese GDP.
