Ithos Global announces the relaunch of a new IngredientSAFE online tool for self-service safety data sheet (SDS) authoring.
SDSs are documents that manufacturers keep on hazardous substances used in professional or industrial environments, such as in a salon where employees are in frequent contact with substances like nail polishes, nail polish removers, glues, and disinfectants.
SDSs include information about the ingredients of a substance, its physical and chemical properties, health and environmental hazards, and safety precautions for handling, storage, and transportation.
IngredientSAFE streamlines and automates the process of creating an SDS. Users simply set up an account on IngredientSAFE.com, download a template, fill it out with the formula’s ingredients and concentration percentages, and upload back onto the site.
In minutes, the SDS is delivered by email. The tool’s ability to expertly author SDSs in both United States and European Union compliant formats is thanks to its connection with Ithos Global’s custom regulatory software and database of over 25,000 INCIs.
Automated language translation is another feature of IngredientSAFE that saves time and effort. Users can opt for their US-formatted SDS to generate in Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, or Korean, in addition to the default language, English.
This makes it easy for manufacturers of products sold in the state of California to comply with the state's new legal requirement to provide SDSs in what are first languages for many salon workers in the state.
“There are many ways people can publish SDS documents,” said Ithos Global’s founder and CEO, Ken Bubeck. “Ithos developed this ‘self-serve’ model as a low cost alternative to show the cosmetics market how fast and easy this method can be. The reaction from our clients around the world has been outstanding.”
Pricing for SDSs, translations, and consultations with an Ithos Global regulatory analyst are listed at https://ingredientsafe.com/pricing/.
