The world's most comprehensive museum dedicated to the art of fragrance is re-opening this spring. After extensive refurbishment, the newly expanded 3000m sq museum will maintain its role as guardian to the protection and promotion of the perfume world.
Located in Grasse, France, and the worldwide capital of scent, the museum aims to trace the history of perfume, of which the region is at the very heart, enabling visitors to understand the role of perfume internationally.
The museum will house the world's most diverse public perfume collection, spanning a period from ancient times to today, and covering the five continents, and revolve around three major themes: seduction, treatment and communication.
As well as the cultural tourism aspect, this international project will present the perfume industry within the context of political, economic and social change, on both a local and national level.
