India's GCPL on the acquisition trail

The Indian GCPL group, which leads the domestic market in hair colourants and soaps, has said it is seeking acquisitions in Latin America, the Middle East and China with the aim of increasing the proportion of foreign sales in turnover from 23% at present to 50%. The company is also considering entering the premium hair colour and shampoo sectors and has a number of products in development. GCPL has about 35% of the Indian hair colourants market and a 10% share of the domestic soaps sector.
