French packaging supplier Ileos Group has strengthened its position in the sampling market with the acquisition of Biopack.
The transaction was successfully completed with the support of Ileos’ majority shareholder, 21 Centrale Partners and a pool of banks, according to the group.
Biopack, created in 1989, is a market leader for fragrance samples such as sprays and small bottles. Ileos says the company will join its Socoplan division to create a combined structure estimated to generate a consolidated turnover of Euros 73m.
The acquisition has also promoted a number of internal moves. Maxime D’Haussy, previously Socoplan’s sales & marketing director, Europe will take over as coo at Biopack, while Stéphane Frémiot, previously sales director at Biopack, will become sales & marketing director, Europe for the new group. Both will report to Socoplan ceo, Ludovic Anceau.
Biopack founders, Bernard and Eric Simon will work with the new management team until the end of 2009 to optimise integration, according to Ileos.
