IFRA completes fifth cycle of its compliance programme
Industry and members comply with standards
IFRA has announced the successful completion of the fifth cycle of its Compliance Program. The cycle tested 50 fragranced products including fine fragrances, body care products and household products, chosen at random from a selection of 450 marketed items available in ten countries and found they did not contain any IFRA banned substances.
The evaluation conducted by Eurofins Scientific, an independent body between May 2010 and May 2011 found that all products tested complied with the IFRA Code of Practice.
“This fifth cycle of our Compliance Program has once again demonstrated that the Standards are adhered to by IFRA members and the fragrance industry at large,” commented Pierre Sivac, IFRA president. “Our objective at IFRA is to ensure the safety of fragrance products for the consumer and the research centre, RIFM [Research Institute for Fragrance Materials] and by setting industry policy based on the outcome of exhaustive reviews of results by an independent panel experts.”
