Hourglass has opened its new global flagship in the heart of New York.

Located at the corner of Prince and Elizabeth in NoLita, Manhattan, the US make-up brand's new store features decor inspired by luxury apartments.

This design, which includes lounge areas with bespoke furnishings and a custom café-style velvet banquette, is intended to create an inviting space for customers.

“The philosophy of 14 Prince is to welcome clients into a beautiful environment, inspired by the history and creativity of its surrounding downtown neighborhood,” Hourglass said in a statement.

Colour-correcting overhead fixtures and mirror lighting have been fitted in the store to provide a more optimal environment for make-up application.

Also featured in the space are artist stations, which have been placed along the window façade to allow for better colour-matching utilising natural light.

The store's centerpiece features a sculptural, marble beauty bar which has been created using natural stones and bespoke metals inspired by the ‘Big Apple’.

“Set within a space that has been created for connection through intentional design and inspiring cultural programming, a variety of luxe seating options, and minimal use of digital screens, fosters conversation and personal exploration throughout the space,” the brand added.

Hourglass will also host an ‘Artist in Residence’ series within the store, with a rotating line-up of notable personalities for in-store masterclasses and appointments.

This will begin in April with celebrity make-up artist Emily Cheng.

Other events will include panel discussions, art installations, trunk shows and exclusive product drops.
