Holland & Barrett ups personal care offering with new concept store
British retailer Holland & Barrett, best known for selling health foods and vitamin supplements, is to unveil a new concept store, which if successful could set the precedent for Holland & Barrett stores in the future. The store, which opens 19 February in Bury St Edmunds, will have a dedicated space for natural beauty and toiletry products called H&Be Naturally Beautiful. In addition to the Dr Organics range, which Holland & Barrett began selling in April 2009, the store will stock brands new to Holland & Barrett including A’Kin, Burt’s Bees and Lavera.

Another new addition is the concept store’s Good Food to Go counter, which will sell healthy, vegetarian, ready-to-eat food.
“The new Holland & Barrett store allows us to pilot new initiatives and if successful will be the footprint of future Holland & Barrett stores,” commented Holland & Barrett’s director of trading, Phil Geary, who indicated that Holland & Barrett was searching for more “new and innovative products, ranges and categories” to complement its existing natural product offering.
