HairFlair, the hair care brand aimed at consumers with curly locks, has opted for a more sustainable alternative for its latest product.
The new Curl Detangling Comb (£6.95) is designed using polylactide, or PLA, a material made from renewable thermoplastic and a polymer, processed from corn, sugar beet or sugarcane starch, that is said to biodegrade in the correct environment.
By ditching disposable plastics, HairFlair is helping reduce the amount of plastic waste found in the 120 billion units of packaging produced by the beauty sector every year, most of which is not recyclable, according to Zero Waste Week.
Meanwhile, the product’s wide gaps are said to be ideal for untangling thick and hard-to-manage hair, while the ergonomic handle makes the product easy to hold.
Customers can choose from black and pink colours.
