French fragrance house Guerlain has unveiled its new men’s fragrance, Guerlain Homme. The fragrance is the first men’s fragrance to launch since L’Instant de Guerlain pour Homme in 2004 and is described as a fragrance for the man who ‘exudes a flexible confidence, equally at ease in a tuxedo or trainers.’
Described as a citrus, aromatic woody scent, Guerlain Homme was created by Thierry Wasser and Sylvaine Delacourte and moves away from the traditional olfactory pyramid, instead using three parallel phases.
A mojito accord, comprising mint, sweet lime, rum and sugar notes provides freshness, while floral citrus notes of bergamot, green tea and pelargonium create the sophisticated second phase. The third fact combines vetiver and green rhubarb to create an earthy, animalistic base to the scent.
The glass bottle is swathed in a metallic sheath, designed to resemble a hip flask and created in collaboration with the Pininfarina automobile design studio.
An after shave moisture gel, containing soothing mint extract, a hair and body wash and two deodorants, a perfumed deodorant spray and alcohol-free deodorant stick accompany the eau de toilette.
