Natural beauty brand Green People is mourning the loss of its founder’s daughter, Alexandra Kay Vøhtz Petersen, who passed away last week after a long battle with Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS).
Commonly known among her family as Sandra, Petersen – the original inspiration for the brand, established by Charlotte Vøhtz – was just 28 years old.
EDS are a group of rare inherited conditions that affect connective tissue, which provide support to the skin, tendons, ligaments, blood vessels, internal organs and bones.
Petersen is also said to have played an important role within the skin care brand’s product development, encompassing body, hair, sun and wellbeing products.
“Our sincere condolences go out to her family, friends and all others who were blessed by the presence of this remarkable young woman during her all-too-brief life,” wrote the brand.
“Alexandra’s mission was to help others, and moving forward, Green People will be fulfilling her wishes and supporting The Ehlers-Danlos Support UK.”
Throughout its history Green People has campaigned for using good quality ingredients within its skus and used its platform to support customers with health and beauty advice.
Support varies from lanolin-free products for sensitive skin to the benefits of sunflower oil on the skin.
