Good start for Alliance Boots

Alliance Boots’ has released its first trading update since the two companies merged on 31 July 2006. The company commented that the integration of the two operations was proceeding well and that its retail business was on track.

The wholesale business has also performed well, according to the company, and it has signed an agreement with Pfizer to become its sole logistics services provider for the distribution of prescription medicines to pharmacies in the UK.

In France the company is improving efficiency across its warehouse network, making for greater flexibility.

The company will announce its half year results in November.
