German luxury sector to double by 2020

Market for premium products remains strong in the country


The luxury products sector within the German economy is expected to double its value between now and 2020, according to a report from the Roland Berger consultancy. The sector, which includes cosmetics, achieved total sales of €49bn in 2011 with €19bn coming from the consumption of both German and foreign brands on the domestic market.
