France issues safety recall for BioDerma
The French health products safety agency (Afssaps) has ordered the withdrawal from the market of all the batches of Bioderma's ABCDerm Maman Vergetures with expiry dates before or in September 2011 as a precautionary measure. The decision follows reports of what the agency describes as side effects on skin that are "not serious".

The decision follows reports of what the agency describes as side effects on skin that are "not serious".
Consumers have been urged not to use this cosmetic product any longer and to return it to point of sale. The side effects reported involve five examples of dermatitis - reddening of the skin among pregnant women after use of the Bioderma product. The source of the problem has not yet been identified clearly. The product is one of a range of dermatological cosmetics marketed for dealing with skin irritation.
