Former Nelsons US President David Hinton takes on Nelsons CEO role

Hinton replaces Najib Fayad, who retires after seven years of COO

Nelsons, the UK’s leading and Europe’s longest established manufacturer of natural healthcare products, has appointed David Hinton as CEO. He has moved from the US to take the helm at Nelsons’ Head Office in London and replaces Najib Fayad, who retires after seven years as COO.

Hinton’s appointment follows a period of growth and global expansion for Nelsons during a particularly challenging time for natural healthcare and the global economy. He is charged with building on the company’s solid foundations to drive the strategic vision and take Nelsons to the next level following a busy year of improvements to the company’s infrastructure.

Hinton’s previous position was President of Nelson Bach USA (US, Canada and Latin America) where he led distribution of the RESCUE range and Nelsons H+Care Hemorrhoid Relief Cream into mainstream mass drug outlets including CVS pharmacies and Walgreens. David was also responsible for the launch of Pur-Absorb Iron into mass retail channels supported by an extensive marketing campaign and TV advertising.

David’s CV includes 25 years of consumer and pharmaceutical experience including general management, marketing, sales, finance, manufacturing and mergers and acquisitions experience. He says: “From working for Nelsons in the US I know the company, I know the owners and I enjoyed working with my predecessor, but I’m ready to bring something new to Nelsons. As CEO, I’m looking forward to taking what is already a successful company and making it more efficient, more innovative and ultimately bigger.”

Nelsons Chairman Robert Wilson says: “Hiring David as CEO is the right direction for the company now and we are extremely confident that he will lead our business to deliver our ambitions. His experience and successes in the USA absolutely convinced us that he is the right person to take Nelsons into a new era globally.”
