Fragrance and flavour company Firmenich has opened its first professional atelier in South America.
The new São Paulo, Brazil, rooftop workshop is designed to be a creative and inspiring space for its perfumers to work from and meet with clients.
The Swiss company entered the Brazilian market almost 70 years ago and also has offices in Colombia and Argentina.
“The fine fragrance atelier in Brazil marks a new page in the history of Firmenich,” said Firmenich’s Fine Fragrance Worldwide President Jerry Vittoria.
“We now have a space dedicated to perfumery in the heart of Vila Madalena in São Paulo, a modern and inspiring environment to exchange experiences, encourage innovative partnerships and define the future of fragrance together with our customers.”
Firmenich Principal Perfumer Frank Voelkl added: “It is exciting for me to work in such an inspiring environment in the heart of Brazilian creativity.
“It will create a new and disruptive dynamic for our long term partnership with our beloved Brazilian fine fragrance customers.”
Fragrance is Brazil’s strongest beauty category, outperforming the overall beauty and personal care sector in 2018.
Revenue in Brazil’s fragrance sector, according to database company Statista, amounted to US$5.1bn in 2019 and is expected to grow 3.2% year-on-year.
