India and Switzerland are the main channels for counterfeit cosmetics exports into the EU, according to the European Commission's customers directorate (DFUD).

Volumes of personal hygiene and care products confiscated last year soared by 264%. The main source countries of the counterfeit cosmetics are Georgia, Turkey and China, and China was the origin of 58% of products seized.
