Cedric Prouvé, Group President of beauty owner Estée Lauder Companies (ELC), is to retire after a 27-year long career with the business.
Effective 30 June 2022, Prouvé’s replacement is expected to be announced shortly, and will work with the company veteran in February to ensure a smooth transfer.
According to his LinkedIn profile, the 61-year-old joined ELC in 1994 as the business’ General Manager Singapore and headed up its Travel Retail division for Asia and the Pacific regions.
Nine years after joining the team, he was appointed Group President, the role he has kept for the last 18 years.
Under his direction, ELC’s international business has grown significantly from 43% to around 77% of the business in fiscal fiscal year 2021.
He has also overseen the company’s expansion to more than 35 affiliates, doing business in over 150 countries and territories.
As part of Prouvé’s legacy, he leaves behind a diverse international structure; a framework of global and local experts that has been built-up through years of collaborative work with global retailers and commercial partners.
“In a rapidly changing industry, Cedric’s strategic vision, inspiring leadership style and unique team-building abilities have been integral to the success of ELC’s international business, and we are well-positioned for future growth,” said Fabrizio Freda, ELC’s President and CEO.
“I have greatly enjoyed my close partnership with Cedric over the years, and I would like to thank him for leading our international organisation with a great blend of enthusiasm, thoughtfulness and most especially, kindness.
“His positive energy, dynamic style, caring nature and deep international expertise will be truly missed.”
Meanwhile, William Lauder, Executive Chairman and son of Leonard Lauder, added: “Throughout his career, Cedric’s keen ability to lead with our company values and foster meaningful partnerships across the enterprise has led to significant contributions across the business, while also enriching our company’s culture.
“We have all benefited from Cedric’s strategic insights and his candid and charismatic communication style.
“On behalf of the company and the Lauder family, I would like to wish Cedric the very best in his well-deserved retirement.”
