Coty, the beauty owner of Rimmel London and CoverGirl, has announced that its President of Luxury Brand is stepping away from the business after just five years with the conglomerate.
Simona Cattaneo joined the New York headquartered company as Chief Marketing Officer in 2016, and took up her Presidency role in January last year; she will remain with the company until the summer.
During this time with the beauty giant she played a significant role in the brand’s transformation after its merger with P&G.
Her career in beauty spans almost 30 years, having served in executive roles at Burberry as its Senior VP Beauty, Parfums Christian Dior and L’Oréal.
“I want to sincerely thank Simona for her leadership, commitment and passion over the last five years,” said Coty’s CEO Sue Nabi.
“She played a key role in building our prestige brands portfolio, expanding our presence in the make-up space, and strengthening our relationships with Coty’s licensors, as well as successfully integrating Kim and Kylie’s beauty businesses into our portfolio.
“Simona has helped lay the foundations for Coty’s long-term success and we wish her the very best in the next chapter of her career.”
Coty said her successor is expected to be announced in due course.
Cattaneo added: “Having joined Coty in 2016 as Chief Marketing Officer, it has been a fantastic experience to work with so many inspirational people as I have progressed through the organisation.
“Coty is fortunate to have passionate and dedicated staff throughout [the] business and strong relationships with our licensors.
“As I move on from Coty to pursue other interests, I’m delighted to see the business positioned for future success.”
