A recent study conducted by the NPD Group in the US has suggested that cosmetics are among the products most likely to maintain sales in the event of an economic downturn.

A recent study conducted by the NPD Group in the US has suggested that cosmetics are among the products most likely to maintain sales in the event of an economic downturn.

Entitled Consumers Speak Out On The US Economy, the report polled 2,000 adults, of which more than half said they were least likely to change habits on affordable purchases such as cosmetics and fragrances. The single most cited factor for potentially reducing spending habits was concerns over job security.
