CeraVe, the ceramide-focused skin care brand, has moved into hair health.
The L’Oréal-owned drugstore label’s new hair care line-up comprises two shampoos, two conditioners and a two-in-one wash.
These are split into two ranges.
Gentle Hydrating is made up of a sulphate-free shampoo and a lightweight conditioner.
Both feature three essential ceramides – EOP, NP and AP – identical to those found in the scalp, as well as hydrating hyaluronic acid.
Anti-Dandruff, meanwhile, consists of a shampoo, conditioner and the two-in-one.
CeraVe’s Anti-Dandruff Shampoo is formulated with 1% pyrithione zinc, which combats dandruff-causing fungus.
It claims to eliminate up to 100% of visible flakes when regularly used as a system with the Anti-Dandruff Conditioner.
With CeraVe pinpointing ceramide deficiency as a root cause of dandruff, the range also includes the brand’s signature blend of three skin-identical ceramides.
The launch was developed in collaboration with dermatologists, with products tested on more than 450 diverse scalps across various ethnicities, genders and ages.
“As we looked ahead to the future of CeraVe, we felt that hair and scalp care were a natural progression for the brand,” said Tom Allison, Senior VP & Global Head of Professional Sales and Marketing at CeraVe..
“Working hand-in-hand with our dermatologists, we were able to create anti-dandruff formulas with skin-identical ceramides that are not only effective for gently and effectively cleansing and treating dandruff without disrupting the scalp barrier, but also leaves hair feeling healthy and soft.”
All skus in CeraVe’s hair care line cost under US$10 and are exclusive to US grocery giant Walmart.
