“I really started thinking about Burberry make-up when we were working on the show several years ago,” commented chief creative director, Christopher Bailey. “I was looking at all the different ways the Burberry girl expressed herself and it was the only element missing.”
The 12-sku range features a natural, classic colour palette, with lightweight textures and packaging designed to reflect the iconic Burberry check pattern.
The products themselves are divided into four areas. Burberry Skin comprises Sheer Foundation fluid, Sheer Foundation compact and sheer powder, a luminous pressed powder to eradicate shine and leave skin looking flawless. Burberry Glow meanwhile features a blusher (Light Glow) and bronzer (Warm Glow), together with an application brush, while Burberry Eyes, said to be inspired by the natural and earthy tones of the English countryside, comprises Sheer Eye Shadow, Effortless Mascara and an Eye Definer shaping pencil. Finally Burberry Lips features Lip Cover satin lipstick, with colours ranging from nudes to deep reds, Lip Glow natural lip gloss and Lip Definer.Prices range from £15 - £39, with the UK launch taking place at Harrods on 12th July.
