A year after the launch of her first fragrance in over a decade, Cé Noir, Beyoncé has announced her latest scent, Cé Lumière.
Cé Lumière features top notes of Madagascar black pepper and Italian mandarin.
Middle notes include jasmine and rhubarb, drying down to patchouli and musk base notes.
Beyond the ingredients, few details have been shared about the inspiration behind the fragrance.
The name Lumière, meaning “light” in French, and visuals featuring an illuminated bottle, suggest a concept of brightness or radiance.
In an Instagram post Beyoncé hinted at this theme with the message, “someday you’re going to shine on your own”, positioning Cé Lumière as a fragrance that embodies personal empowerment.
The new fragrance is available for consumers to pre-order, as stated on Beyoncé’s official website with shipping set to begin in November.
It retails for US$160.
The release of Cé Lumière comes after the launch of Cécred in February, her hair care line for textured hair.
Beyoncé’s return to fragrance reflects a strategy of gradual brand expansion in the beauty sector.
After the success of her original fragrance Heat, launched in 2010 and followed by several other scents, the introduction of Cé Noir in 2023 marked her first new scent in over a decade with Cé Lumière now joining the line-up.
The announcement follows Beyoncé’s recent public appearance with Vice President Kamala Harris at a democratic party rally in Texas.
"I'm not here as a celebrity, I'm not here as a politician, I'm here as a mother," Beyoncé said as she endorsed the US vice president.
