Beiersdorf France plans protected sale

Published: 4-Oct-2006

Beiersdorf plans to sell its French production and logistics facilities in a bid to restore the competitiveness of Beiersdorf France and reduce its structural capacities. The company says the continuation of existing employment contracts is an important criterion in negotiations.

Beiersdorf is looking for an industrial investor who can ensure the continued manufacture and logistics of its products. The potential sale is part of Beiersdorf's new Consumer Business Strategy and is said to be coherent with the realignment of its consumer supply chain.

Beiersdorf France, which is based in Savigny-le-Temple, reported sales of t354m in 2005 and employs 750 people, 209 of whom work in production and 58 in logistics.
