Bare Escentuals beats downturn with Q3 profit rise
Mineral-based cosmetics company Bare Escentuals Inc has reported a 3% increase in net sales for the third quarter of fiscal 2008; net sales were $130.2m, as compared to $126.6m in the same period of 2007. Net income was also up, rising 12% from $366.4m to $409.1m.

“We have a great brand, millions of loyal customers who are passionately engaged with our brand and products, and many exciting opportunities to reignite growth, even in this environment,” said ceo Leslie Blodgett of the results.
Bare Escentuals also credited its recent operational structure review for the company’s solid financial performance. “We recently took actions aimed at rationalising the operating and cost structure of the company,” said Blodgett. “The result is a leaner and more effective organisation, which we believe is necessary to navigate the current difficult economic environment and best position the company for sustained, profitable growth.”
