BAMA appoints new chairman
Ian Mackinnon takes on new role
Mackinnon, CEO of Swallowfield PLC, has been a member of the BAMA executive committee for six years and vice-chairman since January 2011. He replaces Dr John Morris who has been appointed as BAMA’s chief executive officer.
Commenting on his new role, Mackinnon says: “I am honoured to be elected as chairman of one of the UK’s most reputable trade associations. Having worked in the sector for over twelve years, I hope that I will be able to help BAMA remain at the forefront of industry thinking and look forward to working with the executive committee, which I know to be very strong.
“I am also keen to support John Morris in his new role and I will work hard to ensure the association’s core goals are met during what is a challenging period for industry.”
Mackinnon is qualified as a chemical engineer and a chartered accountant. In January 2000, he joined Swallowfield as group finance director and was later appointed as CEO in March 2006. Morris replaces Sue Rogers, who has retired after being director of BAMA for 18 years.
