Avon scales down in Spain

US direct sales cosmetics major Avon is to cut 113 jobs at its Spanish operation and close 16 out of 20 beauty centres. The company said the move was intended to restore profitability. The operation is being offset by the centralisation in Spain of its French and German distribution services.
