Avène pioneers sterile packaging

French skin care brand Eau Thermale Avène is the first to use an innovative tube technology which makes it possible to keep a formula free of bacteria without the need for preservatives in a large size tube. The DEFI system (Dispositif Exclusif Formule Intact) by Promens guarantees sterility before and during product use.

The tube is being used to package two existing Avène Tolérance Extrême formulations for very sensitive skin – a cleansing lotion and a cream. The products were previously only available in three-day mono-dose vials. The products are preservative, paraben, fragrance and emulsifier-free and are designed for skin that is allergic, hypersensitive or in a state of crisis. The cleanser contains only six ingredients including 79% Avène Thermal Spring Water and the cream has nine ingredients including 57% of the spring water.
