US beauty’s big boys could benefit from a tax rate slash under President Donald Trump’s incoming administration.

But the labour force, international trade and the US cosmetic regulatory landscape may face turbulence.  

In congratulating Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance in a statement, the US’ Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) noted: “It is important for PCPC to ensure these officials understand the critical role the cosmetics and personal care products industry plays in the US economy, job creation and innovation. 

“Among other things, PCPC will encourage the new administration to prioritise the continued implementation of MoCRA (the new federal regulatory framework for cosmetics), the movement of international goods, reduction of trade barriers and the use of responsible and safe business practices.”
