Belgian jewellery designer Vanessa Tugendhaft has announced her first perfume collection, Eaux Diamantees, which links the idea of perfume with jewellery.
It consists of three fragrances: Or Jaune, Or Blanc and Or Rose (Yellow Gold, White Gold and Rose Gold), with the juice coloured to match the name.
The bottles are embossed with a glass rose – two versions of which can later be turned into jewellery. The simple bottle with non-removable rose costs €75; the luxury diamond-contoured rose, in a limited edition of 300 bottles, costs €350, while the prestige diamond-covered rose (again in a limited edition of 300 bottles), costs €595.
To have the rose turned into jewellery, the buyer brings the empty bottle back to a Vanessa Tugendhaft outlet, where it can be removed from the bottle by a specialist glassmaker and mounted on a coloured thread or chain as a bracelet or necklace.
All the perfumes were composed by Alice Datte of all-female perfume house Cinquième Sens. Or Jaune has head notes of bergamot, citrus and mandarin; heart notes of blackcurrant, green tea, rose and ylang-ylang; and base notes of sweet wood, white musk and gray amber. Or Blanc has head notes of bergamot, pink bay and mint; heart notes of fig, orange blossom and jasmine; and base notes of sweet wood, white musk, moss and grey amber. Or Rose has top notes of bergamot, ginger and mint; heart notes of soft fruit, candy dragees, dried fruit, honey and orange blossom; and base notes of sweet wood, white musk, grey amber and violet.
The fragrances are available online from www.vanessa-tugendhaft.com, the company's store in Paris and selected points of sale worldwide.
