Unilever to buy Sara Lee personal care business
Consumer goods giant Unilever has announced plans to buy Sara Lee Corp’s personal care business, responsible for brands including Brylcreem, Radox and Sanex, for a cash sum of €1.28bn ($1.88bn). According to Unilever, the transaction is subject to regulatory approval and consultation with European employee works councils.

Sara Lee enjoyed annual sales in excess of €750m in the year ended June 2009 and Unilever believes that the acquisition will enable it to strengthen its position in both western Europe and also in those emerging markets which already generate 15% of its sales.
