Beauty giant Unilever has agreed to buy skin care brand Tatcha for an undisclosed sum.
The Asian-inspired brand, which was founded a decade ago in San Francisco by Vicky Tsai, is reportedly on track to make $100m in sales in 2019.
The acquisition is further evidence that the beauty giant is tailoring its product portfolio to attract younger, more engaged consumers.
Earlier this year it added French niche brand Garancia to its portfolio, and in 2016, it acquired men’s grooming brand Dollar Shave Club.
Tatcha joins Unilever’s burgeoning niche brand portfolio which includes REN, Kate Somerville, Living Proof, Murad and Hourglass.
