Largest full net decline breaches 2,400 for the first time, says PwC

A record net 2,481 stores disappeared from the UK’s top 500 high streets in 2018, according to a new survey by PwC, compiled by the Local Data Company (LDC).

In total, 3,372 shops opened however there were 5,833 closures according to the research. In 2017, the net loss was put at -1,772 stores.
