GE Advanced Materials has announced the launch of two new Silsoft silicones designed for the enhancement of hair conditioning and skin care products. Silsoft HC 400 conditioning agent is said to improve the performance of hair conditioners and Silsoft ETS trisiloxane is thought to help provide improvements in the performance levels of skin care and colour cosmetic products.

GE Advanced Materials says that when used in hair conditioning Silsoft HC 400 delivers a soft and natural feel and also helps to minimise the damage caused by detangling. The agent has also been shown to reduce static and flyaway more effectively than other silicones.

Silsoft ETS trisiloxane is promoted as an excellent candidate to improve colour coverage in lipsticks and foundations through enhancement of pigment dispersion. When added to formulations, it promotes fast rub-in and a dry and light after-feel and can also aid in delivering uniform deposition of actives on the skin.
