Clarins, Coty, Groupe Rocher and L'Oréal have teamed up to create the Responsible Beauty Initiative (RBI).
In partnership with supply chain insight company EcoVadis, the four beauty giants aim to promote sustainable initiatives by sharing best practices and educating the benefits for suppliers.
CEO of EcoVadis, Pierre-Francois Thaler, said: “RBI members are well-positioned to leverage their collaboration to create value and competitive advantage by advancing sustainability performance in its shared global supply chains.”
Ecovadis will rate the company's business framework, who can then use the data to improve their supply chain.
To formally launch the RBI, the founding members will sign a charter and invite other beauty companies and suppliers in the industry to join.
