Symrise announces 10% Scent & Care price increase

Symrise today announced that it is increasing its Scent & Care division product prices by up to 10% and more with immediate effect.


Symrise today announced that it is increasing its Scent & Care division product prices by up to 10% and more with immediate effect.

Symrise ceo Gerold Linzbach described the steps as “not very popular but unavoidable”. The company has been forced to put costs up because of an unprecedented increase in energy, transportation and raw material costs.

“The Scent and Care division has been particularly hit by the increases in petrochemical raw materials, energy and transportation,” said Linzbach. “We have been able to compensate some of it through efficiency improvements and the dollar rate helped to a certain extent. But as the trajectory shows no sign of changing, we now have to pass some of the increases on to the market.”
