Swallowfield to manufacture in Eastern Europe

Cosmetics and toiletries manufacturer Swallowfield is to build a new 3,266 sq metre factory in the Czech Republic. The base, which the company predicts will be finished by November, is set to open for manufacture in January 2008. Swallowfield currently produces aerosol spray items, toiletries and colour cosmetics in plants in the UK and China.

According to chief executive Ian Mackinnon, the company is “focused on making the most of low cost manufacturing centres in the emerging markets”.
