Chris Appleton, the celebrity hairstylist to Ariana Grande and Kim Kardashian, has been named as Shark Beauty’s new global ambassador.
The two-year deal will see Appleton work with the vacuum and hair tool brand to create and star in a new social media campaign.
He also joins the Shark Beauty Collective, which consists of influential celebrity stylists such as Glen Coco, Alyx Liu, Dafne Evangelista and Ursula Stephen.
Together, the group serves as advisors to the brand and evaluates new product developments.
“Chris is the perfect partner to bring to life for our customers how Shark Beauty tools can help them look and feel like the best versions of themselves without stepping foot in a salon,” said Neil Shah, Chief Commercial Officer at SharkNinja, the owner of both the Shark and Ninja brands.
Appleton began his hairstyling career at age 13 working at a salon in his home town of Leicester, UK and would go on to win at the British Hairdressing Awards in 2010.
He rose to fame in 2014 after being appointed by Rita Ora to work as her hairstylist.
“I’ve always been impressed by Shark Beauty’s tools and inspired by their mission to design products ‘For All Hairkind’, said Appleton.
“I can’t wait to bring that feeling of the hair hitting just right to the masses through my partnership with the brand.”
Shark has also added two new products to its hair tool portfolio alongside Appleton’s appointment.
The Shark SmoothStyle Heated Comb Straightener + Smoother has been designed to straighten and smooth hair, and offers two modes which can be used on wet or dry hair.
Additionally, the Shark SpeedStyle dries and styles wet hair and also features a setting which smooths flyaways.
The two new launches follow on from the success of the brand’s Shark FlexStyle, which was created to work on all hair types.
“We’re thrilled to build on the incredible momentum of Shark FlexStyle and expand our presence in the beauty space with the launch of these two innovative products and the partnership announcement of Chris Appleton,” added Shah.
