At this year's Luxe Pack Monaco 2015, with more than 8,500 visitors and 450 exhibitors from the luxury packaging community, innovation combined with sustainable development took centre stage.
The event's Luxe Pack in Green awards reflected the continuing importance of environmentally responsible luxury to both brands and packaging creators. "This is a trend not just for recycled materials, but for sustainability combined with aesthetics", Nathalie Grosdidier, General Manager at Luxe Pack, said in an interview with Cosmetics Business.
This year, two companies were feted for excellence in green practices, including ecological packaging, materials, processes, technologies and certifications.
Glass specialists SGD won the Best Green Packaging Solution for Verre Néo Infini, a transparent glass for perfumes and cosmetics made from 90% recycled materials developed ealier this year. Aptar Beauty + Home won the Best Corporate Social Responsibility Approach award for driving several environmental initiatives, including recycling of 90% of its industrial waste.
