Rising prices

The Lanxess chemicals group has increased its prices worldwide for chlorotoluenes, cresols and the antioxidants Vulkanox BHT and Vulkanox BKF. Depending on the product group, the price per metric ton will rise by between 5 and 15% as a function of the proportion of toluene used. The reason given for the price rises is a drastic increase in the cost of the raw material toluene and raised energy costs.

Additionally BASF has increased the prices for organic absorbers globally by 8%, as contracts allow. Products affected are all grades of Uvinul. BASF say these adjustments are due to substantial and ongoing cost increases for energy and raw materials.
