Rexam has announced the purchase of the remaining 50% interest of a joint venture with Mexico City-based plastic packaging manufacturer Pavisa Industries.
Under the new agreement, Rexam will take full ownership of Pavisa’s plastic packaging and extrusion blow-molded manufacturing plant in Tlalnepantla, Mexico City, which produces plastic containers and closures for the personal care and cosmetic industries, as well as the pharmaceutical, diagnostic and health care markets. Rexam says it will use the plant to invest in growth in the Mexican and Latin American markets.
“We are confident that a stronger foothold in the growing Mexico and Latin American region will enable us to provide unique product and service opportunities that take us a step further in becoming the best consumer packaging company in the world,” commented Graham Chipchase, group director, Rexam Plastic Packaging.
