Protameen's Elegant Body Lotion showcases triple-ester blend

The goal with Elegant Body Lotion was to prove that a rich, emollient-forward formula doesn't have to feel heavy

Protameen Chemicals Inc. has introduced its Elegant Body Lotion, a formulation built around three of the company's signature esters: two oil-soluble and one water-soluble. Combined, the trio produces a rich, luxurious lotion with a notably smooth, dry after-feel.

The formulation centers on ProAqua ISL (Isosteareth-200 Linoleate), a water-soluble ester in the water phase, alongside Protachem ISL (Isostearyl Linoleate) and Protachem ISP (Isostearyl Palmitate), both oil-soluble esters in the oil phase. Together with deodorized cocoa seed butter, glycerin and panthenol, the blend conditions and softens skin while avoiding the greasy residue often associated with body lotions.

"The goal with Elegant Body Lotion was to prove that a rich, emollient-forward formula doesn't have to feel heavy," said a Protameen formulation chemist. "By balancing water- and oil-soluble esters, we were able to deliver both immediate glide and a lasting, non-tacky finish."

Full formulation and manufacturing procedure are provided below for evaluation by personal care manufacturers.
