Maroger's Medium is a resinous material used by painters to enhance depth and amplify the colour of their works.
Now Arch Personal Care Products has created a cosmetic ingredient claimed to have the same effect. The ChronoSphere Opticals product line is based on clear microlens spheres coated in polyurethane, which causes the angle through which the light enters the sphere to change. This shifts the focal point away from the outer edge of the sphere to the centre, distorting the image captured by the viewer and giving the illusion of smoother skin.
According to Arch, ChronoSphere Opticals are adaptable to every skin type and don’t cause an ashy appearance when used on darker skin tones.
Also available is ChronoSphere Opticals Brite, which has the added benefit of being able to neutralize skin imperfections related to redness and minor flaws.
